If you follow my Twitter or Instagram, you may have picked up on one of my other passions other than Hinching. Since I can remember, I have been completely obsessed with ‘gaming’. After watching my parents play Super Mario for hours, and after getting a PlayStation 1 for Christmas, I haven’t stopped playing games since. Even though I am now team Xbox, I have grown up around gaming, where my brother and I would spend ages playing all the original Grand Theft Auto games on the PS1 (when it was all in a birdseye view). Even though it wasn’t very age-appropriate, and he wouldn’t let me play exactly, we would spend hours in front of the TV. The whole family would try and beat Tomb Raider levels, which we would end up spending hours on as it was so hard to save your progress back in the day!
James always said this is why he took an interest in me, as what could be better than having a girlfriend who didn’t mind him playing Xbox or even join in?! I would say my gaming tastes have changed slightly over the years, as I much prefer games such as Assasins Creed, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto and Skyrim over Call of Duty, but still enjoy that too!
Even though we have two Xbox’s in the house, I still find myself being drawn to my laptop and being completely obsessed over The Sims. I have grown up with The Sims and have been completely captivated ever since I played it the first time. You may think it is pretty sad that someone in their mid/late 20’s plays this game, but I completely love it; so f*ck off! I know people wouldn’t class The Sims as ‘gaming’, but it is a game at the end of the day…
This is something James, and I have connected over, and is probably only one of our common interests! We wait for games to be released at midnight, we play as many co-op games as possible and get super excited about the newest releases. We used to spend hours playing Call of Duty Ghosts, drinking wine and smashing it (cause we were campers).
I don’t know why I love it so much or gaming in general, but it may have something to do with being able to escape from reality for a few hours. After a stressful week at work, there is nothing better than switching off and doing something you generally enjoy doing. Maybe it isn’t the healthiest of hobbies, but it really is something I love, and I don’t think it will be something I ever stop loving.
I’m not sure if there is enough interest for me to start writing about my favourite games, or if anyone cares, but blogging is all about writing about your passion, and gaming is one of mine!
It is so hard to stick to one niche when blogging, that is why Chloe Talks is a ‘lifestyle blog’, but to be honest, it is just a huge mismatch of my thoughts put into random categories. Do you have an interest in gaming, or want to see more gaming posts on my blog? Let me know in the comments below!
