Get On My Wick Review*

This post is a collaboration which means the items featured were kindly gifted to me, however, all opinions are my own.

Much to my boyfriends’ demise, one of my obsessions is candles. I know that most people my age buy clothes and makeup, but one of mine is definitely candles. I really think they make a room feel much more relaxed, homely and of course, often fill a space with a beautiful aroma.

I was lucky enough to be sent a candle to review from Get On My Wick (clever name)! As mentioned above, they really are one of my obsessions, and if I had it my way, my house would look something similar to the Phantom of the Opera…

Get On My Wick create beautiful and incredible smelling candles, all of which are vegan! Created in Berkshire, they use completely natural ingredients which are a much healthier alternative to the standard paraffin and artificial ones you tend to get. This also means that the beautiful aroma they give off is a lot softer and not so overpowering.

I was sent one of their pomegranate and amber candles to try and write down my thoughts. Firstly, I love simple packaging, and the candle arrived in the cutest little box with the candle still intact! I don’t think companies need to go so brand heavy or over-do their packaging; I really think simple is better.

The candle itself smells incredible, especially for something which has been created with completely natural ingredients; and that was before I had even lit it.

Taking pride in my favourite room in the house, the lounge, it fits in perfectly. Once lit, it completely filled the room with the most beautiful aroma which wasn’t overpowering at all! I have only managed to light it a couple of times, but it seems that it could burn for quite some time before it would need to be replaced.

The thing about this brand I love is that the products are vegan. Even though I am not one myself (halfway there being a vegetarian), I think it is important to make a conscious effort, even in the smallest of ways. Additionally, the jar the candle is it could easily be reused for something else and is recyclable!

Even though my candle was kindly gifted to me, I think £7.50 is definitely a reasonable price for something of this quality, and it would be something I would purchase at my own accord.

As mentioned above, I always make a conscious effort to be a little more eco-conscious, and it never occurred to me that I can do this by opting for a vegan candle!

If you are like me and have a slight candle obsession, then I would definitely recommend Get On My Wick! Would you consider purchasing a vegan candle or has it ever crossed your mind? Let me know in the comment section below!
