Lowa Walking Boots Review*

It feels like a long time since I had something potentially interesting to write about, as I feel like life got super crazy towards the end of last year! However, as life has got so much better over the last few months, I have enjoyed some incredible walks through the Devon countryside over the weekends to try and tire Luna out!

I feel the Autumn and Winter is the best time to go out exploring, with the crisp yet bright weather being perfect conditions for both us humans and dogs. My favourite place to go for a walk is Dartmoor, as it is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the South West; it is also open enough that Luna can have a good run around.

When James and I started embarking on adventures at the weekend, I purchased some cheap walking boots from Mountain Warehouse, and they did the job for about a year until they got really worn down and weren’t waterproof any more. I then put off getting any more until we got Luna and then realised that I needed some more, but this time ones that are of a much better quality and will do the job I actually needed them to do.

I was lucky enough to be able to pick out a pair of walking boots to try from the Lowa website, and with some great guidance from their team, I decided on the RENEGADE GTX® MID WS in black. I was a little worried at first as I do have wide feet (thanks mum and dad), but they do actually have this shoe in three different fit options, but I ended up just choosing the standard size.

I was so excited when they arrived, as I was heading out for a walk on Exmoor that weekend and wanted to give them a good go on different types of terrain. Firstly, I know that I said my feet were wide, but these boots actually fitted like a glove with enough room for some thick socks.

One of the best things about these boots is the comfort, there were no blisters in sight, and they are actually so light on my feet! This is surprising as mostly all new shoes give me a blister, and my previous walking boots felt so heavy!

These boots are truly good on any terrain, from muddy moors to hard-to-manoeuvre rocky landscapes, and I think they will last me a long time! I have trudged through so much mud, sand, puddles and more and I am yet to see any wear or tear.

Best Points:

  • Speedy Delivery
  • Waterproof
  • Really Comfy
  • Lightweight
  • Stylish
  • Great Customer Service

I will honestly say that I am yet to see any negatives from these walking boots, and I have actually recommended them to everyone I know!

Whether you consider yourself a hiking/walking expert or just enjoy an adventure at the weekend, these boots are most certainly a sound investment. If you are looking for some lightweight hiking boots, then definitely check out the huge range on the Lowa website!
